Summary
A historic noble residence in Sărmășag, Sălaj County, recorded in the Monumente Uitate (Forgotten Monuments) inventory.
History
According to the Hungarian Wikipedia article on the village, two noblemen from Bohemia, Albin Fröhlich and Baron Wessebe Hatwig, bought part of the Sarmaság estate in 1880. A wine house in the corner of the castle garden belonged to Fröhlich, who as a Catholic gave it to the church; it served as a chapel consecrated in 1931 and was replaced by a new church in 1991-1993. The village's earlier landlords were the Kemény family. The Monumente Uitate inventory lists the building as having no current function.
