Summary

A neoclassical manor in Hodod (Hadad), Satu Mare County, next to the Wesselényi baroque castle. The national heritage list describes it as a Reformed Church cultural centre with a granary.

History

The Wesselényi family held Hodod and dozens of surrounding villages from 1584 and built their baroque castle in 1761-1776. The Degenfeld manor beside it was built in neoclassical style between 1812 and 1815, according to Castle in Transylvania, whereas Hungarian Wikipedia calls it eclectic and late 19th century and the heritage list dates it to the 18th century. The estate is linked to both the Degenfeld and Wesselényi de Hadad families. Hungarian Wikipedia says the Degenfeld castle hosts camps, and the heritage list names it a cultural centre of the Reformed Church.
