History
The Béldy family built the castle around 1903 for their son, Count Kálmán Béldy, on his marriage to Pálma, daughter of Count Béla Wesselényi, who gave the land as a wedding gift. The property included a tennis court, a hippodrome and a landscaped park. The family lived there until nationalisation in 1948, after which it served as a hospital and later an old-age home. After 1989 the heirs recovered the castle and about five hectares, and the building was returned to the rightful owner in January 2009. Sălaj County Council then bought it, ending the rent it had been paying. It was listed as a historic monument in 2010.
