History
The heritage list (LMI AG-II-a-B-13803, Str. Coasta Câmpului, Aleea Taberei) dates the building to the early 20th century, and Romanian Wikipedia and a heritage portal say that Emanuel Antonescu and Zoe Antonescu lived in it. Antonescu (1870-1949) was a university professor, dean of the Faculty of Law in Bucharest in 1936 and a Conservative Party deputy for Argeș. According to Revista Construcțiilor (2018), the building stands on a hill, practically inside a sports base, belongs to the County Directorate for Youth and Sport and was deteriorating visibly, with the town hall of Ștefănești and the University of Pitești reported to be interested in taking it over. A 2025 article reports the county council listing it as unmanaged and says restoration is possible if the local town hall gets involved.
