History
The manor was built by the Salbek family, of German origin; Matei Salbek added the upper floor around 1811, giving it its Neoclassical look. Manorial courts once sat under the park's old oaks. Nationalised under communism, it served as a special school, an asylum and, until 2009, a pneumo-phthisiology sanatorium. It was returned to the former owners' heirs in 2009 and bought at auction in 2016 by the London firm OMC Investments (linked to the Botnar family) for a reported 350,000 EUR start price and about 700,000 EUR final, which planned a hotel and foundation seat. A 2023 ZF interview says a private buyer bought it for about half a million euros from a UK foundation and plans a 12 million euro restoration.
