Conacul Klobosiski (Klobusiczky) · Klobusiczky-udvarház
sat Gurasada; comuna Gurasada, Hunedoara
arboretum/park of about 2.5 ha as stated by ro.wikipedia (park only)
Summary
A single-storey 19th-century manor with a colonnaded veranda and a 2.5 ha dendrological park in Gurasada. After nationalisation it served as a state farm and agricultural variety-testing centre; according to Romanian Wikipedia it is unclaimed public property.
Legal status
Nationalised after WWII; no restitution claim reported since 1989 ↗
History
Gurasada belonged to the Benedikty family in the 19th century; the last Benedikty owner, Lajos, had no male heir and the estate passed to his daughter Alexandrine, who married Andor Klobusiczky, so the Klobusiczkys held it around the turn of the 20th century. Ro.wikipedia says most of the family left for Hungary during the war and that the communist regime turned the mansion into a state farm (IAS) and later a state agricultural variety-testing centre. The park, with rare species such as bamboo and tulip tree, was neglected. Ro.wikipedia quotes the mayor as saying nobody has claimed the property since 1989.
