History

The national archaeological repertory dates the manor of Stan Jianu to the 18th century and describes the church as medieval, of the 17th century, rebuilt in 1778-1779. The manor is the subject of a 1982 study by Marcel Berindei and Sorin Sebastian Duicu, published in Revista Muzeelor și Monumentelor, which treats it alongside the Brăiloru manor at Negoești as an example of 18th-century rural residential architecture. The national archaeological repertory lists the property as privately owned. According to tourism websites, the complex was a tourist inn at one time, and the manor is associated with the Jieni boyar family, from which the outlaw Iancu Jianu came.
