The ruins of the former Nicolau manor in Coșoveni (Dolj County), dated 1797-1798 and one of the commune's locally listed monuments.
History
The manor dates from 1797-1798 and survives only as ruins. The Wikipedia article on Coșoveni names it among three monuments of local interest in the commune. According to a 2012 blog post, it belonged to the Nicolau boyars and stood in the Curteni part of Coșoveni de Sus, on the Craiova-Caracal-Bucharest road near the cemetery. The author writes that it served as a school in the 1950s, with classrooms on an upper floor, and that it still had a roof around 1980. In 2012 the roof and upper floor were gone and part of the walls was buried, with materials taken by locals.
