History
The cula, also known as the Barbu Poenaru cula, dates from 1764 and was modified in 1896. Culas are fortified civil buildings typical of 17th- and 18th-century Oltenia, usually with two or three storeys and a lookout turret. The interior has vaulted rooms and fresco paintings. Monumente Uitate recorded a school function for the building.
