History
The Buhuș boyars owned the Bodești estate that became Buhuși. Toader Buhuș obtained princely charters in 1819 for fairs and a weekly market and in the 1820s settled merchants there. By 1889 the town and its woollen mill belonged to Colonel Eugen Alcaz. Romanian Wikipedia dates the manor and gate to 1800 and notes that the museum, founded in 1977, is housed in the manor; the history exhibition was reorganised in 1991 with a focus on the local textile industry. The date of nationalisation is not known.
