History

According to a cycling-tour page, Nicolae Iatan Poenaru, a director at Banca Minelor, commissioned the building in 1929. A 2012 architecture blog gives the same year with a question mark and attributes the design to the architect Cristofi Cerchez on the word of his descendants only. The blog adds that Poenaru, a bank director and agricultural landowner in Ialomița County, and his wife Constanța commissioned the house on the Merii Petchi estate she had inherited. The blog listed the house as a ruin in 2012.
