History
The manor carries a plaque crediting G. Hagi Theodoraky with its construction in 1896, to plans by an architect named Ruher, probably of German origin. The Theodoraky family were prominent merchants who also held estates at Mihăilești and Măxineni; the Măxineni estate covered 435 ha in 1892. The house was nationalised under Decree 83 of 1949 and the commune used it as a school from 1953 to 1974. In 1976 the Ilfov County Council handed it to the transport company Transcom, which ran a vehicle depot there until 1988 and received title in 1996. In 2009 the National Institute of Historic Monuments described it as close to collapse, with ironwork, joinery and the staircase gone. According to Jurnalul Național, a listing procedure opened in April 2009 was contested in court. Descendants of the builder tried to recover the property but lost in court.
