History

Livezile, formerly Tolvădia, is first documented in the 14th century. English Wikipedia states that the Gyertyánffy family, proprietors of the village, acquired the estate during the reign of Joseph II (1780-1790) and commissioned a mansion there in the same period. Monumente Uitate lists the manor under the name of Kristóf Gyertyánffy and as not accessible. According to prinbanat.ro, the Gyertyánffy family took over the estate, including Livezile, in 1795, and other family manors stand at Giera (1829) and Grăniceri. Nationalisation of the family's properties in 1948 is reported there for the family generally.
