History
The manor dates from 1750, among the oldest buildings in the Banat. In 1780 Andrei Mocioni obtained the Foeni estate from Emperor Joseph II, founding the Mocioni de Foen line; the family was ennobled through his widow and sons. The building was almost wholly destroyed in the 1848 revolution. Andrei Mocioni de Foen inherited the estate in 1869 and died in 1880, leaving his fortune to his wife Laura; in 1912 Baron Gyula Csávossy owned it. Anton Mocioni de Foen bought it back and wanted to make it a cultural house; he died in 1943, ending the direct line. After nationalisation it served as a communal bath, kindergarten, grain store and disco, and since 1989 it has belonged to the local administration as a cultural centre.
