History
The village is first mentioned in 1261. A Renaissance manor, linked to the Bocskai family, was fortified under György Haller after 1606. The Baroque transformation took place from the 1750s to the 1770s under the Hallers, with stonework attributed to the Austrian sculptor Anton Schuchbauer. In the early 20th century the building was sold to the Elekes family (sources differ on the intermediate owners), and a fire in the 1920s destroyed the mansard roof. After 1948-1950 it housed an agricultural cooperative, the western façade partly collapsed in 1956 and the central roof fell in during the 1980s. After 1989 the interior was looted. The ruin has been returned to the descendants of the Elekes family (date not known).
