History
According to local press, the house was built in 1762 by the logofăt Vasile Moangă, a close associate of Tudor Vladimirescu, who is said to have stayed there with his pandurs during the 1821 revolution. It later passed to Dumitrache Săceleanu and then, by will, to his niece Octavia Pleșoianu, before being nationalised. After nationalisation it served as a school, a village museum and a food store. On 29 July 2010 it passed to Gorj County Council, administered by the Gorj County Museum; in 2010 the museum paid for an emergency roof. In 2022-2023 the building was reported near collapse, and the Săcelu town hall applied for recovery-plan (PNRR) funding for consolidation and tourist use.
