Summary
The traces of a Brătianu family manor near Sâmbureşti (Olt County), on an estate the Brătianus owned and where Vintilă Brătianu founded a noted vineyard after 1906.
History
The Brătianu family held the Sâmbureşti estate; Ion C. Brătianu inherited it together with Florica. After 1906 Vintilă Brătianu, advised by the oenologist Auguste Joseph Ville, set up a fine-wine vineyard there. The communists nationalised it and ran it as a state farm, after which it declined. In 2005 the holding company Valvis took over the vineyard. The map names the site "Remains of the Brătianu Manor".
