History
The official heritage list (LMI) dates the manor to the middle of the 17th century and records it as the ruins of the manor of spatharios Mihail Cantacuzino, at no. 706 in a private yard in Mărginenii de Jos. The Cantacuzino family was one of the leading boyar families of Wallachia. The commune's Wikipedia article lists it as the only protected monument in Mărginenii de Jos, alongside the ruined palace of the postelnic Constantin Cantacuzino in Filipeștii de Târg.
