History
Grand Logothete Pană Filipescu built the house around 1650 (the Wikipedia article also cites 1635-1641). It reportedly once held the library of Constantin Cantacuzino Stolnicul. The Filipescus owned it until after the First World War, when it passed to the Cantacuzino family. A restoration in 1968-1971 under architect Mișu Rădulescu was followed by decline. A new restoration under the Regional Operational Programme, contracted in 2012 at about 13.1 million lei, led to the opening of the museum on 24 May 2016. It displays Cantacuzino and Filipescu heritage, a lapidarium and a park with statues; four of the ten rooms are open.
