History
According to local articles, the Darvay family built the manor in the 18th century and were the main patrons of the village's Reformed church and school; Ferenc Darvay left half of his estate to the Cărășeu Reformed church and half to the Reformed boys' gymnasium in Satu Mare. The manor took its present form around 1870 under the Mayer family, described as one of the wealthiest Jewish families of the area, who had a synagogue in the courtyard. Csengeri Mayer Sándor and his wife Regina were deported and did not return. German troops burned the grain depot in 1944 and Soviet troops afterwards looted the manor. It was nationalised in 1948, became the seat of a collective farm in 1951 and from 1970 housed a veterinary district office and a maternity hospital. A 2019 article reports a pharmacy and a medical office inside the renovated building.
