History
The palace was built between 1640 and 1650 by Iordache Cantacuzino as a hunting lodge, and later rebuilt on the old foundations. Only the gazebo (foișor) with its sculpted hunting animals, birds and Cantacuzino arms survives from the original. Around 1812 it passed to Iordache Rosetti-Roznovanu, and in the following century to the Brătianu family, from whom it was expropriated. In communist times it housed the Pioneers' House and after 1990 a children's club. It was returned in 2005 to the heirs of the last owners, who lacked funds and ceded the palace and nearly 7,000 m² of land to Pașcani city hall for 180,000 EUR in instalments. A rehabilitation project (EU Regional Operational Programme, contract of March 2019, 12 million lei) began works in 2021; by 2026 it was about 65% complete, the roof was done, and the contract with the first contractor had been terminated over delays.
