History

The older manor, from 1598, is attributed to 'Pana căpitan ot Budeasa'. A fire destroyed the manor around 1764 and it was rebuilt in 1768, and it was rebuilt again around 1870. Tradition says Metropolitan Neofit the Cretan visited, and a local legend says King Charles XII of Sweden stayed there for a few days. Engineer Dimitrie Budișteanu enlarged the building between the wars. The authorities requisitioned the manor in 1949 and the family collection was scattered soon after. The Budișteanu family also helped build the local church in 1796.
