History
Gheorghe Carp bought the Țibănești village in 1771, and Ion Carp built the manor around 1820; Petrache Carp laid out the park about 1830. Petre P. Carp (1837-1919) added a second floor in 1905, and a neo-Gothic mausoleum stands in the grounds. In WWI the house served as a typhoid hospital. The state confiscated the property in March 1949, after which it housed the agricultural cooperative, a local association and a children's club. The Sturdza heirs, descendants of Carp's daughter Elisabeta, claimed it in 2001, and a 2005 ministry order returned the manor, outbuildings and 1.5 ha. The park, in the public domain, was not returned in kind and the heirs declined a compensation offer. The ensemble is privately owned and, since 2009, has hosted the 'Batem fierul la conac' craft workshops.
