History
Colonel Constantin Prezan and his wife Olga bought the estate of about 1,100 hectares, with the manor, in 1896. In the early twentieth century a park, a cellar, a fountain and an administrator's house were added, and a new wing followed in 1939, bringing the house to 25 rooms. Prezan, later a marshal of Romania, died on 27 August 1943 and was buried in the garden, where his wife was later buried too. After nationalisation in 1945 the building housed a care home, whose patients were moved out in 2001. A court recognised the ownership of his niece in 1999, and in October 2002 she donated the manor and land to the Vaslui county museum. The manor is described as urgently needing consolidation and restoration.
