History
According to a 2024 article in Ziarul Națiunea, the manor was built around 1750-1780 for the boyar Nicu Nicolau and rebuilt in the first half of the 19th century; the heritage list dates it to the first half of the 19th century. The Nicolau family, described there as of Greek origin, kept it until nationalisation in 1948. Afterwards the building served as a neuropsychiatric hospital, an old people's home, an agro-zootechnical farm and a training space of the Ministry of Interior. A 2014 blog visit found local authorities managing it since 2008 and the interior badly degraded; in 2024 the building was in poor condition, with a printed canvas over the facade, while a large park had been created around it. Brazi commune included the manor in the county's 2021-2027 development strategy, aiming at EU funding for consolidation and restoration.
