History

The heritage list dates the manor to 1750 and Wikipedia ties it to Costache Cantacuzino, while a 2019 press report says the Cantacuzino family built it at the end of the 1600s. The press report also says it later served as a library, a police station and a town hall, and has been abandoned since 1992. The property was returned to a Cantacuzino descendant who lacked the funds to renovate it. By 2019 the roof had fallen in, bricks were disappearing from the walls and thieves had destroyed floors and burned roof beams. The Râfov town hall proposed that the owner partner with it for EU funding, on condition the building host socio-cultural activities.
