Summary
The Jancsó manor stands in the Ladia quarter of Ghelința (Gelence), Covasna County, at the centre of a former estate of about 300 hectares. The heritage list dates it to 1848-1850 with a family link going back to 1727.
History
The Ladia estate of roughly 300 hectares was assembled in the 18th century from the lands of the noble Basa, Mihálcz and Biroga families. In 1727 István Jancsó, a nobleman and tax collector from Lunga, settled in Ghelința after marrying Mária Biroga. The present manor was built in 1848 and rebuilt in 1850. The last family member to live there, Péter Jancsó, died in 1993. The building is in private ownership.
