History
According to the manor's website, it was built between 1906 and 1909 by Gheorghe Buzdugan, to a design by N. Caranevici, on a site overlooking the Siret valley. Buzdugan, born in Focșani in 1867, became president of the High Court of Cassation and a member of the Regency; he died in 1929 and, as he had wished, was buried in the garden in front of the manor. His remains were moved in 2008 to the churchyard of the village church founded by the Buzdugan family in 1935. The website states that Soviet troops vandalised the manor in 1944 after the owners fled, and that under the communist regime the state took over the property; a report of 30 March 1949 records the whole property being handed over to representatives of the Ministry of Commerce and Food. In 2002 it was returned to the Regent's grandchildren. A Bacău entrepreneur acquired it in 2015 and began rehabilitating the manor and outbuildings with period-appropriate materials. It now hosts private events and concerts, and offers accommodation and a restaurant.
