Summary

A mid-18th-century boyar manor in Hudești (Botoșani County), built by the Boldur-Lățescu family next to their family church. It later served as a school and is now listed as degraded.

History

Romanian Wikipedia dates the manor to 1745-1746 and credits Mihalache Costache Boldur-Lățescu; the Sfinții Voievozi church stands next to it. It was built of stone, brick and wood in the style of old boyar courts. Local tradition says Alexandru Ioan Cuza visited, but this is not documented. In the 20th century the building housed a school of arts and trades, a gymnasium and later a general school, the school later moving to a new building. Monumente Uitate lists its function as housing. The park with its fishpond and firs has disappeared.
