It is associated with the Somssich family, and the estate is the subject of a restitution claim. A local story says that when the 1940 border was drawn, the line was moved east so that the village, and the castle of the influential Earl Somsics, stayed on the Hungarian side. The last known owner is named as the Kendi Association, which is said to want to sell to Romanian or Hungarian private investors.
