History
Zoltán was a Saxon village that a plague emptied in the second half of the 16th century; the king then granted it to the Haller family, who resettled it with Romanian serfs. The manor was probably built in the 16th century, though written records on the building are scarce, and the counts used it mainly as a summer residence. The last owner was the widowed Countess Rozália Haller, who lived there alone. After World War II the empty building was requisitioned, housing refugees from Moldavia and then a collective-farm office, warehouse and stable. The Hallers did not reclaim it after 1989, so it stayed state property until it was sold to a local farmer and later changed hands several times. The interior is destroyed, the park gone and the family cemetery ploughed under; the building stands in ruins.
