History
The heritage-list entry (LMI AG-II-a-A-13593) dates the ensemble to 1752 and names its components as a ruined house, the church of the Ascension and an enclosure wall. According to the commune's Wikipedia article, the Cepari boyars held high offices in the 16th and 17th centuries, and from 1650 the estate passed to the Balotă family. The brick church of the Ascension was rebuilt in 1751-1752 by a Balotă, replacing an older church traditionally attributed to the vornic Dragomir Ceparul (1532-1533), and was restored in 1888-1889. The church's own Wikipedia article gives the rebuilding as 1752 by the boyar Ștefan Balotă on the foundation of an earlier church of 1533, with further restoration in 1977-1980 and 2005-2009; the inscription quoted in the commune article names the grand clucer Ștefan Balotă.
