Expropriated in 1949 (another source: nationalised in 1948) ↗

History

According to a regional heritage site, the Brătianu court at Tigveni was built in the second half of the 18th century on an estate that Dincă Brătianu received as a dowry. Major Teodor Brătianu modified and extended the house in 1860-1870. The house has two levels, with brick barrel-vaulted cellars, and the ensemble includes the ruins of the 18th-century Sf. Voievozi church. The estate was expropriated in 1949 and the court became a hospital-school for children with disabilities; another source dates the nationalisation to 1948 and says the church was demolished that year. Later buildings added to the grounds, including after 1989, have altered the setting of the monument.
