Conacul Temesvári · Temesváry-kastély (Uzon)
sat Ozun; comuna Ozun, Covasna · 442
Summary
An eclectic late-19th-century manor in Ozun (Uzon, Covasna County) built for the Temesváry family and now housing a kindergarten. It has been recently renovated, while its surroundings show later changes.
History
The manor was probably built in the second half of the 19th century by the Temesváry family; architect and exact date are unknown. The family was ennobled in 1911. In 1976 a family member who moved to Hungary donated the house to the village, which used it as a mortuary. After 1989 the family's descendants reclaimed the property and it was held privately from 2000. It now houses a kindergarten named after János Temesváry (1880-1947), and the former garden is its playground. The symmetrical façade mixes neo-Renaissance and classicist elements, and the garden façade is in Empire style with octagonal corner towers.
