Summary

A manor (curia) at Str. 1 Decembrie 1918 no. 17 in Câmpia Turzii, raised by Baron Zsigmond Szentkereszty and later bought by Count Ödön Bethlen. Today it is an annex of the Pavel Dan theoretical high school (library and some classrooms), and the town is restoring it with PNRR funds as a museum and library.

History

Baron Zsigmond Szentkereszty built the manor and laid out an artificial lake and a small park beside it; a canal linked the lake to that of the neighbouring Paget manor. After the First World War it passed to Count Ödön Bethlen (1893-1968) of Beclean. After the Second World War it was used as a primary school, and today it is an annex of the Pavel Dan high school. In October 2022 the municipality signed a PNRR financing contract (8.33 million lei with VAT, implementation 2022-2025) to restore the building, fit out museum rooms and a library, and digitise it as part of the 'Curia Route'.
