Summary
A boyar manor built in 1910 in Cozieni, Ilfov County. After use as a school in the communist era and decay after 1989, it was being restored and converted into a hotel and conference centre from 2018.
History
The manor was built in 1910 for a wealthy landowner with land and vineyards. In the communist period it housed a school, and after 1989 it fell into advanced disrepair. Restoration and structural consolidation began in 2018. In 2022 Accor announced a management contract with Next Hospitality to run it as the Mercure Conacul Cozieni Retreat Resort and MICE, with 75 rooms and suites, a restaurant, a bar, an event hall in the old manor and a new conference centre, planned to open in the third quarter of 2022.
