Summary
A manor ensemble in Conțești (Davidești commune, Argeș County) dated 1869 and reworked in 1939, with outbuildings and an enclosure wall. It is a monument of local importance and belonged to the Periețeanu landowning family.
History
In the late 19th century the principal landowners of Conțești were Ștefan Periețeanu-Buzău and Sache Nicolau. Periețeanu owned the estate and its forest, built a 7 km railway line between the station and the felling area, and set up a mill and steam sawmill; he also helped finance the village school and the 1897 church. The heritage list dates the manor to 1869, with a rebuilding in 1939, and records the house, outbuildings and an enclosure wall.
