History
The heritage list (LMI) dates the Conacul Mari to 1906 and Romanian Wikipedia links it to the house of the writer Elek Benedek, but gives no further history. The Romanian museum guide says the museum, founded in 1969, occupies the house where Benedek lived and is administered by the local council, and that a descendant of the writer still lives in the house. The exhibition covers his life and works, including first editions.
