Summary

A manor in Rătești (Berca commune, Buzău County), near the Mud Volcanoes and Rătești Monastery. A long-abandoned house, reportedly from about 1930, it has been restored as a family-run guesthouse.

History

According to a 2021 promotional article, the house dates from about 1930 and stood abandoned until it was bought in 2011 by a German-Romanian couple, who renovated it step by step over roughly ten years. It is now run as a guesthouse with apartments in separate houses, a pool and garden, and offers meals based on local products and excursions in the Buzău Land area.
