History
The estate belonged to the Rhédey counts in the early 19th century and passed in 1859 to the Wesselényi family through marriage; Margit Wesselényi and Baron Henrik Rothenthal probably had the building reconstructed, and a weathervane bears 1898. After 1918 it went to Sarolta Wesselényi and then to her daughter Stefánia Bethlen, wife of Baron Artúr Petrichevich-Horváth. It was nationalised in 1948 and used by an agricultural association, then passed to the State Domains Agency and was sold in the 2000s to a private buyer. The buyer's family sold it in January 2021 to Gănești commune for 235,000 EUR. In 2023 the commune signed a PNRR contract worth 800,000 EUR to turn it into a cultural centre and retirement home.
