History
According to the Hungarian Wikipedia, the ruins on a hill on the Csíkszentmihály side of the village are of a manor attributed to the Sándor family of Csíkszentmihály, which probably stood in the 16th-17th centuries and was probably destroyed in the Tatar raid of 1694; its walls still stood several metres high in 1909. A heritage-site presentation describes a roughly two-hectare archaeological site of several stone buildings on the north bank of the Rákos stream; it suggests the owner was probably György Fejér, who received a royal donation in Vacsárcsi in 1566, and says the Sándor name comes from the Csík Székely Chronicle and is not confirmed by written records. Excavations began in 2012 and found earlier layers, including 15th-century timber-sill building and 12th-century remains. The manor is reputed to be where the Csík Székely Chronicle was written in 1533.
