History
The manor stands on a hill on the Brătianu family estate at Mihăești, about 15 km from Râmnicu Vâlcea. It is attributed to the Liberal politician Vintilă Brătianu (died 22 December 1930), after whom it passed to his wife Lia. Its eastern wing is a square tower recalling Byzantine forms. The property was nationalised in 1949 and turned into a tuberculosis sanatorium, later the Constantin Anastasatu Pneumophthisiology Hospital. After 1990 consolidation and renovation works were funded by the Ministry of Health and the county council, and the building was listed as a historic monument in 1991-1992.
