History
According to local press accounts, the manor was built in the mid-19th century by the boyar Alexandru Cantacuzino Pașcanu, with about 37 to 40 rooms on roughly 600 m² and water and electricity supplied by a micro-hydro plant on a local stream; a local tradition calls it the first building in Moldavia with electricity. The Sturdza family owned the estate until it was nationalised in 1949, and in the communist period it housed an agricultural mechanisation station. A court ruling of 2003, final in 2005, gave the estate back to a family member, and it was reportedly sold in 2006. According to a 2022 report, private individuals bought it about four years earlier and plan to turn it into a hotel; the same report describes the building as badly deteriorated, with a family living on site as caretakers. Romanian Wikipedia dates the manor to the end of the 19th century.
