History
The manor dates from 1840; Hungarian Wikipedia credits its construction to Antal Nyéky, while Romanian Wikipedia names Sándor Wekerle, later Hungarian prime minister, as the builder. Wekerle is recorded as buying an estate in the village in 1900 and keeping a horse-breeding operation there. After 1920 General Vintilă Petală lived in the house, which is why it became known as the Petala manor. The general and his family left the country after 1951. The property was later restituted to the general's great-granddaughter, who sold it to a private couple. The grounds hold a park with silver planes and American walnuts. In April 2025 the Timiș County Council said the building was close to collapse and that it intended to take it into administration, with the commune's agreement, to cover and secure it until studies for a rehabilitation project are ready.
