Summary

A neo-Romanian manor of around 1900 in Cosoba, Giurgiu County, belonging to the Niculescu-Dorobanțu family. Press reports say it was probably designed by Grigore Cerchez; it has two storeys and a veranda on massive columns, and is offered for sale by Romania Sotheby's.

History

The manor of the Niculescu-Dorobanțu family was built around the end of the 19th century or c. 1900. A press report says it was most likely built to plans by the architect Grigore Cerchez, a friend of the family who handled most of its building work at the time. The building has two storeys, about six rooms, semicircular windows and a wide veranda on heavy columns. It is on the monument list and was offered for sale by Romania Sotheby's, according to press reports first at about 490,000 EUR and later at 445,000 EUR.
