History
The manor was completed in 1898 and is attributed to a family named Ghețu, with the help of Italian craftsmen. Heritage-institute material lists the Ghețu, Miclescu, Dumitrescu and Thun Hohenstein families among its owners before the Bolomey brothers bought it in 1932. In the 20th century it hosted lavish weekend parties for Bucharest nobles and intellectuals. Under communism it passed to the state and was used by the agricultural cooperative as a chicken farm and a vegetable and fertiliser depot. In 1997 it was transferred to Ialomița County Council; after 1989 it was heavily stripped by scrap thieves and reached the state of a ruin, with the authorities citing a lack of funds. A rehabilitation project of about 21.8 million lei began in 2019, funded under the 2014-2020 Regional Operational Programme with the County Council as beneficiary. According to InfoCons, citing the National Heritage Institute, it has since been restored and opened to the community as a cultural space.
