Summary

A manor in Nisipeni (Hungarian Sándorhomok), Lazuri commune, Satu Mare County, built in 1862 for the Berenczei Kováts family. Monumente Uitate lists it with no current function.

History

The Berenczei Kováts family was among the noble families holding estates in Nisipeni from the late 18th century. Castle in Transylvania dates the manor to 1862. At the start of the 20th century Jenő and Sándor Kováts were, together with Sándor Gödény, the village's largest landowners. The family's memory also survives in an unusual pyramid-shaped tomb on a small hill in the village cemetery. Monumente Uitate records the manor as having no current function.
