Badly degraded, it was left without a function; in July 2026 Suceava County Council declined to use its pre-emption right over the property.

Legal status

The Kapri heirs regained title to the manor and its land in 1997, according to Monitorul de Suceava. The property is in land register no. 30345 Grănicești and on the LMI list (SV-II-m-B-05562). ↗

History

The Kapri barons were the most important landowners in Iacobești in the first half of the 19th century, according to Monitorul de Suceava, and their court included a manor of two brick buildings with white columns; the larger one carried the family coat of arms on a pediment. Iacobești was a Szekler village settled from about 1776 in Habsburg Bukovina. After nationalisation the manor housed a sanatorium for infectious diseases, and in the 1970s and 1980s it provided tourist accommodation within the youth tourism office network. After 1989 the smaller building held a dispensary for a few years and the larger one a cooperative basket-weaving workshop. The article reports that the heirs regained title to the manor and its land in 1997, and that vandals later destroyed interior walls, took door and window frames and cut roof beams. On 15 July 2026 Suceava County Council resolved not to exercise its pre-emption right over the property, which the resolution describes as a main building of 677 m2, an annex of 200 m2 and 7,721 m2 of land.
